What do I need for a tour?
We recommend that our guests bring a camera, sunscreen, and a light jacket for days when you feel you may be chilly out on the water. We are mostly in a sheltered waterway, but, it’s best to be prepared!
What’s included with my tour?
We will provide you with a drink and light snack for your tour before you depart. We are not licensed (as of yet), but will provide water or an East Coast Soda of your choice for the trip.
Where do we go for the tour?
We will depart the dock on the public tour and head north into the wild of PEI. Here is where you’ll see wildlife such as Bald Eagles or Herons along the river. Once we turn, we’ll head south past old shipbuilding sites, the Acadian Monument, The Inn at Bay Fortune, and through the Bay Fortune Harbour to Fortune Bay. Here you will see the beauty of Abels Cape from the sea, and we’ll see if we can find a seal or two. The private tour will be based on input from the passengers, we’ll give our suggestions, but, it’s up to you where we go in our geographical area.
When do I show up for the tour?
We recommend that you show up at least 20 minutes early for your tour. This allows time for payment, waivers, and also safety equipment checks. Please feel free to come earlier as Paddles on Fortune River sells local artisan ice cream made by Cherry on Top Creamery in Souris, or enjoy a cold beverage overlooking the river.
Is there a washroom on the boat?
Unfortunately, there isn’t a toilet on board our current vessel, so we recommend that you use the washroom available at the shop before departure.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash of course, but we also are using the Square point of sale, so we can accept Interac Flash up to 100 dollars, and Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
How much room is on the boat?
We use a Bentley 240 Cruise for our tours. It has a capacity of 16 persons, but the max passenger count we will accept is 12, so there will be room for everyone on board.
